The fundamental message of this book for the music industry is not that everyone should give up drugs and alcohol, but that for musicians who find themselves in trouble with drugs and alcohol, this is hardly unusual and happiness and creativity can be found on the other side of drug and alcohol dependency. The first section of the book presents a review of research and published articles on the topic. The second section presents personal insights from 30 contributors working in Australia, US and UK music industries.
